VIDEOGEIST / Philipp Geist selected Works 1996-2016 short from Philipp Geist | Videogeist on Vimeo.

The Berlin artist Philipp Geist (1976) works internationally as an artist in video, light installation, photography, and painting. He has created significant works such as the "Gate of Words" video mapping installation on the Azadi Tower in Tehran, Iran, focusing on peace and freedom. His installations include "Hidden Places" in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a large-area projection on the HVB Tower in Munich. Geist has shown his art in places like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, the Berlin Wall anniversary, the German Embassy in Prague, and the Bauhaus Museum in Dessau.

Philipp Geist's notable light installations include the award-winning "Time Drifts" during Luminale 2012 in Frankfurt, and "Light Spaces" in the Theatinerkirche in Munich. His video mapping installations transform architecture into painterly light sculptures, challenging perceptions of two- and three-dimensionality.

His work has been shown at international festivals, including the Glow Festival in Eindhoven, the Mutek festival in Montreal, and Sonar Festival in Barcelona. Geist’s projects integrate the location, sound, and moving images in a dynamic, immersive way.
