SonarAuditori

For the second consecutive year L'Auditori de Barcelona will be hosting an exceptional musical proposal: The Orquesta Sinfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), conducted by Ernest Martínez Izquierdo, will interpret a selection of classical and contemporary music pieces with the intervention of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Pan Sonic and Fennesz as guest sound hackers. They will use their instrumental and electronics equipment to process the sounds of the orchestra in real time. A unique concert and a revolutionary experience.

For the second year running L’Auditori de Barcelona will be hosting an exceptional musical proposal: on Thursday June the 17th the Orquesta Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), conducted by Ernest Martínez Izquierdo, will perform a selection of classical and contemporary music pieces in which Ryuichi Sakamoto, Pan Sonic and Fennesz will intervene as sound hackers.
After the success reaped by the Matthew Herbert Big Band on the opening night of Sónar 2003, it is now the turn of the OBC to take over and offer a repertoire of classical and contemporary pieces which Ryuichi Sakamoto, Pan Sonic and Fennesz will be processing in real time with their instrumental and electronics equipment.
The concert brings together a symphony orchestra and three frontline sound researchers of the moment, for the first time ever in Spain, in what promises to be a ground breaking musical experiment conceived to extend bridges between classical music and avant-garde electronics.
The performances will be accompanied by visuals by Lia, Videogeist and Jon Wozencroft who will work specifically on the music pieces assigned to them.
